The Puddle Hop

A rainy-day adventure becomes an opportunity to explore movement, direction, and early STEM learning with The Puddle Hop. This interactive learning panel invites children and the adults learning alongside them to move a playful pup through the puddles while counting, observing, and talking about what’s happening in the scene.

As children slide the pup forward and backward, they can practice directional language and explore early math concepts by counting puddles, clouds, and other elements they discover. These hands-on interactions encourage number recognition, observation, and spatial thinking while building vocabulary connected to weather, water, and movement.

Designed for babies through 2nd grade, The Puddle Hop supports engaging learning experiences in children’s libraries, early learning classrooms, pediatric healthcare environments, museums, and other community spaces where hands-on exploration and discovery are encouraged.
