Neighborhood

A neighborhood is full of familiar details waiting to be noticed. Neighborhood invites children and the adults learning alongside them to explore a community scene while making connections to the places, shapes, and everyday details they recognize from their own surroundings.

Through observation and conversation, children can identify windows, doors, buildings, colors, shapes, and other elements within the scene. These discoveries create opportunities to practice counting and comparison, build descriptive vocabulary, and talk about where people live and what makes a neighborhood familiar.

Designed for babies through kindergarten, Neighborhood supports shared learning experiences in children's libraries, early learning classrooms, pediatric healthcare environments, and other community spaces where observation, conversation, and connection are encouraged.
